This is a stunning extra-large vintage crystal rose bowl (or posy vase), complete with its original removable wire mesh flower frog.

Weighing just over 3 kilos and measuring approximately 15.5cm tall by 24cm wide, this is a true statement centrepiece – beautifully cut and reassuringly heavy in the hand.

The base features a radiant starburst pattern, while the bowl itself is adorned with deep cross-cuts and vertical fluting, catching and throwing light from every angle.

The design and craftsmanship suggest this piece was likely made in either Poland or the UK in the late 20th century – possibly by a maker such as John Jenkins, Atlantis, or even Royal Brierley – all of whom produced quality 24% lead crystal with similar diamond cutwork and star bases during that era.

The overall feel and weight are consistent with hand-cut lead crystal rather than pressed glass.

The metal mesh insert (the frog) is in overall great condition with only light signs of age, and it fits snugly over the bowl, making this ideal for floral displays, especially peonies, roses, or dried flowers.

It does have a manufacturing fault that looks like a chip to the bottom of the bowl which I've tried to picture as best as I can. It's very small at around 1.3cm and is barely visible if you didn't know it was there.
